Unik Home Development Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”) builds extensions and renovations across Melbourne. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect personal information that you give us, and only through the ways described below.
Enquiry and quote forms. When you send an enquiry through this website we collect the details you enter into the form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The suburb your project is in
- The kind of project, when you would like to start, whether you already have plans, and your rough budget
- Anything you write in the message field
We collect this so a builder can respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote. Providing it is voluntary, but we cannot respond to an enquiry without at least a name and a way to contact you.
Comments on articles. If you leave a comment on one of our articles we collect the name and email address you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address. The IP address is recorded by WordPress and is used to help identify spam. Your email address is never published.
Server logs. Like any website, our host records standard technical information about requests, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
What we do not do
- We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other third-party tracking or profiling tools on this site.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
- We do not use your information to send marketing email unless you have asked us to.
- We do not collect payment details through this website.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set a small number of functional cookies: if you leave a comment, it can save your name and email so you do not have to retype them, and if you sign in to the site as a member of our team it sets a session cookie. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time without affecting your ability to read the site or send an enquiry.
Who else sees your information
Enquiries are emailed to our team and are handled by the people working on your project. Beyond that, your information is only shared with the service providers that make the site and our email work — our web host and our email provider — and only to the extent they need it to provide that service. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.
Pages that show a map embed content from Google Maps. When a map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. That is governed by Google’s privacy policy, not this one.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we may reasonably need them for the project or quote they relate to, and to meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed builder. Comments and their metadata are kept while the article is published. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see below.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to the website administration area is restricted to our team and protected against repeated login attempts, and enquiry data is held in systems protected by passwords and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email info@unikhomedevelopment.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at info@unikhomedevelopment.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page.
