Kitchens That Work
Before They Look Good

New kitchens and full reconfigurations — joinery, stone, plumbing, electrical and appliances coordinated by one team, on one contract.

  • Custom joinery, not flat pack
  • Stone templated on site
  • Appliances coordinated

A kitchen is a services job with doors on it

Most of the money in a kitchen is spent on things you will never see again: where the waste runs, whether the circuit can carry the oven, how much clearance the rangehood ducting needs, whether the floor is flat enough for a four-metre run of cabinetry to sit true. Get those wrong and no amount of expensive stone rescues the room.

So we set the services out before the joinery is ordered, template the stone on site once the cabinets are in rather than from a drawing, and sequence the appliance deliveries to the install dates. That is why the doors line up, the gaps are even, and the island is not two millimetres out along its length.

What is included

What the price covers.

How it runs

From first visit to handover.

01

Measure and plan the layout

We measure the room, look at how you actually cook and store things, and work the bench runs, appliance positions and clearances out before anything is priced or drawn.

02

Strip-out and services

Old kitchen out, rubbish removed, then plumbing and electrical moved to suit the new layout, with the floor checked and levelled where the cabinetry needs it.

03

Joinery and stone

Cabinetry made to the measured room and installed, then the benchtops templated on site, cut and fitted — in that order, never the other way around.

04

Appliances, splashback and fit-off

Appliances installed and tested, splashback fitted, tapware and handles set out, and a walk-through with you before the final payment.

Common questions

Questions we get asked.

How long will we be without a kitchen?

Longer than the demolition suggests and shorter than most people fear. The honest answer depends on the joinery lead time, which we confirm before you sign, and we will set up a temporary bench, sink and fridge run so the house still functions.

Usually yes. Moving the sink means moving waste and water, which is straightforward on a suspended floor and more involved on a slab; moving the cooktop is mostly an electrical or gas question. We price the change so you can decide with the number in front of you.

It is made to the measured room by a cabinetmaker we work with regularly, not ordered from a catalogue of standard widths. That is what lets the runs finish flush against out-of-square walls, which is most walls.

Yes. We will price them as they stand and tell you plainly where we think the drawing will fight the room — clearances, appliance ducting and floor level are the three that come up most — before you commit.

Our Reviews

4.9 average client rating

We interviewed four builders and Unik were the only ones who talked us out of things. The fixed price held from contract to handover — not one variation we did not ask for ourselves.

Our block has a four metre fall and two builders walked away from it. Unik engineered it properly, explained every cost up front, and the retaining work is genuinely beautiful.

Weekly photos meant we could follow the whole build from interstate. The handover pack had every certificate and warranty in it. Our second project with them starts in March.
